Alpine A290: Why is everyone talking about it?
With the A290, Alpine makes a striking entrance into the premium city car segment. A technical cousin of the Renault 5 E-Tech, it carries forward the brand’s signature strengths : a unique driving experience, a distinctive design, and French-made manufacturing.
Versatile, it appeals equally to sports enthusiasts and fans of trendy city cars, much like its main competitor, the electric Mini John Cooper Works. Its design, along with numerous customization options (stickers, roof color, brake calipers…), allows you to create an A290 that reflects your own style.
t doesn’t forget practicality, featuring a spacious cabin with four genuine seats and a trunk volume of 300 liters. The Alpine A290 can easily accommodate your friends for weekend getaways. As for infotainment, the large 10.1-inch screen, positioned high on the dashboard, makes it easy to control the car’s various functions. A special mention goes to the now wireless Apple CarPlay connection—perfect for enjoying your favorite playlists during your daily drives!

The A290 offers a sporty and very flattering interior.
Sportiness above all for the Alpine A290
Under the hood, the Alpine A290 features an electric motor available in two power levels. The entry-level version already delivers 180 horsepower, while the more powerful variant reaches 220 horsepower. In its top configuration, the little French car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.4 seconds and offers 300 Nm of torque.
Once behind the wheel, you quickly appreciate the work done by the in-house engineers. Whether it’s the precision of the handling or the ride comfort, the French car ticks all the right boxes. Its very direct steering and flat-turning chassis will make you feel like you’re driving a small go-kart.

Range and charging of the Alpine A290
Its 52 kWh battery allows it to travel 380 kilometers on the WLTP cycle. As with every electric vehicle, this range will vary depending on your driving style, especially if you tend to have a heavy foot on the accelerator.
Well-designed, the DC fast charging allows for a power output of 100 kW, enabling the battery to go from 15% to 80% charge in just 30 minutes using a fast charger.
With alternating current charging, the power can reach up to 11 kW, allowing for a full recharge in five to six hours on a standard charging station. Thanks to these different charging options, the A290 adapts to all its users’ needs.
