Skoda Elroq, the electric SUV aiming to shake up Tesla

New metallic grey Elroq

With the Elroq, Skoda is entering a booming segment: that of compact electric SUVs! This model marks a strategic turning point for the brand, as it aims to strengthen its position in the face of increasingly fierce competition.

The Elroq, a downsized Enyaq

The Škoda Elroq is the little brother of the Enyaq, which we tested a few months ago in its coupé version. This newcomer measures 4.48 meters in length and stands 1.65 meters tall. Its classic design features a few distinctive touches, such as its split-level headlights highlighted by a glossy black panel. Its lighting signature consists of a slim strip housing four fully LED elements.

The wide wheel arches and large alloy wheels enhance its character. The Elroq is also the first model from the brand to debut the new design language. Called ‘Modern Solid‘, it will gradually be rolled out across the entire range.

This SUV is sure to appeal to customers looking for a refined yet adventurous style.

A pleasant and cleverly designed interior

True to Škoda tradition, the Elroq offers a welcoming interior. Legroom is generous both in the front and the rear, as is the headroom. To make everyday life easier, the new Škoda Elroq is packed with clever features. Starting with its adjustable boot floor, which creates a flat loading surface—ideal for transporting bulky items. Another ‘Simply Clever‘ idea: a built-in umbrella in the driver’s door (just like in a Rolls-Royce), always handy when the weather takes a turn.

Its large, square-shaped 470-litre boot allows a small family to head off on holiday with ease. The interior design is modern and upmarket, featuring a large 13-inch infotainment screen that is intuitive, responsive, and customizable to your preferences. In tune with the times, the Škoda Elroq also makes extensive use of recycled materials for its dashboard and seat upholstery.

The Elroq: a key model in Škoda’s strategy

The new Škoda Elroq is set to make a mark in the compact electric SUV market and, in the process, challenge the Tesla Model Y. To achieve this, the Czech automaker keeps its pricing reasonable, starting at €33,300 for the City 50 version, excluding the ecological bonus. The entry-level version is already highly compelling, with a comprehensive standard equipment list and a WLTP range of 374 km.

Taking it even further, the 60 and 85 versions offer ranges of 400 km and 560 km, respectively, catering to all needs. The Elroq 85 also allows for a 10 to 80% charge in just 28 minutes.

Think an electric SUV isn’t compatible with sportiness? Škoda proves otherwise with its new Elroq RS! With its bold design and 340 horsepower, it will thrill fans of high-performance SUVs.
